Millennium Cricket League - Application Form - Regular Season

  • Millennium Cricket League (MCL) is a non-profit organization established in 2001. Its main aim is to organize and promote cricket in New Jersey, which adheres to the laws of cricket and is played in the spirit of the game.
  • Teams interested in playing MCL 2024 Season must complete this application form accurately and completely. The applicant team must meet ALL requirements as set forth in the following sections. Documented evidence must be submitted along with the completed application form. The Board of Directors of MCL will review the application and notify the applicant team’s officers of their decision thereafter.

Section A. General Information

  • 1. MCL member teams and new applicants must submit the application form.
  • 2. Application forms are due by March 05, 2024. Applications received after the deadline will be rejected.

Section B. Eligibility Requirements

  • 1. Application form must be filled out accurately and completely.
  • 2. Application is incomplete without the Team Insurance. Insurance should be attached while submitting the Application
  • 3. Applicant team must have a playing roster of at least 15 members.
  • 4. Applicant team must have access to a playing facility. Documented evidence of ground permit must be submitted along with the application. Please refer to Section C if the applicant team does not have access to a playing facility.
  • 5. Applicant team must own all cricket equipment necessary to host a match i.e. Cricket mat, stumps, bails, field markers, basic kit, etc.
  • 6. Applicant team must have paid required membership fees. Please refer to Section C for fee details. Membership fee paid for the season will be adjusted towards past dues if any and the teams have to pay the remaining balance to complete the application
  • 7. Applicant Team must have read the constitution and by-laws of MCL, and having read the constitution agrees to be bound by it. The applicant team also agrees to be bound by all the decisions made by the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee on their behalf. This includes all rules and regulations, request for fees or dues etc.
  • 8. Applicant Team must obtain insurance for its playing team members and send the proof of insurance to MCL EC before the start of season. MCL EC can help you in obtaining it if you are not aware of the process
  • Having met all the prerequisites and submitted the application, the application will be processed by MCL Executive Committee. Executive Committee would invite the applicant team for a meeting if additional information is needed. Executive Committee will send a recommendation on the applicant team’s admission to the Board of Directors.
  • Board of Directors will make a decision to either accept or reject the application. Applicant teams will be informed of the Board of Directors decision by March 15, 2024. Should the Team be rejected, all fees paid will be refunded. Submitting an application form does not necessarily grant automatic entry into the league.

Section C. Membership Fees

    The Annual Membership Fees comprises of the following components.
  • 1. League Fees: League Fees for the season is $900 for Premium and Division A Teams. $700 for Division B teams. New teams has to pay extra $300 towards registration charges. This will be utilized for the purchase of Cricket balls and other administrative activities. Teams has to buy their own insurance at their own cost covering all members from the Team at each game. MCL is not liable for ANY medical expenses incurred by any member teams on the field of play. League can guide you about the procress of purchasing this policy.
  • 2. Umpire Fee Deposit: All teams are required to pay a refundable umpire fee deposit of $140. MCL will assign independent umpire(s) for each league game. Umpire fee for a game is $140.00 per umpire. Teams will split the cost of umpiring and are required to pay the amount directly to the umpire(s) at the time of the toss. Should a team fail to meet its fee obligations; MCL will deduct the arrears from this deposit.
  • 3. Ground Fees: Teams which do not have ground permits for playing any of their home games need to submit a non refundable ground fee of $750.00 along with the application. Teams which have ground permits for playing only a few of their home games need to submit a deposit of $400.00 along with the application. MCL will facilitate grounds for such teams; ground usage fees for such permits could vary from $70.00 to $100.00 per game.

Section G. Team Representation

  • Millennium Cricket League (MCL) urges all member teams to follow all safety procedures while playing the league games. As teams participating in MCL have grown over the years and that MCL encourages member teams to have younger players as part of the team, MCL needs to take additional precautionary measures to protect the League, its Members, Officers and Board of Directors liable for any medical claims or lawsuits. Section J. Affidavit

  • Having read MCL’s Constitution, Team Representation section (Section G) and filled in the required information above, we agree to the following on behalf of the applicant team and all its members.
  • STATEMENT: We declare that we have examined the information given in this application form and, to the best of our knowledge and belief; it is true, correct and complete.
  • a) The applicant team recognizes the MCL Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Disciplinary Committee as the sole decision making bodies regarding cricket laws and interpretation in the Millennium Cricket League. All decisions of the Board of Directors are final and binding on the applicant teams and its members.
  • b) The applicant team agrees to uphold and be bound by the terms of

  • d) The Players of member team including the members under the age of 18 years; their parents and/or third parties related to the players agree to indemnify and hold MCL and/or any of its Officer/s harmless from any claims of any nature made by any third parties as a result of the competition in Millennium Cricket League.
